“I was delighted that Patrick was able to speak at the IoD’s 2007 Enterprise Week event for young people.  I was struck by his enthusiasm about business and he put his message across in a highly professional manner.  His contribution helped to make the event a great success.”

Miles Templeman - Director General, Institute of Directors

Patrick Philpott is a young entrepreneur from Hertfordshire.  He set up his first business, Intelligent Networking Events, to cater for professionals and business owners in the lower Lea Valley area without the constraints of a membership structure and weekly attendance commitment.

Intelligent Networking Events progressed but Patrick's entrepreneurial mind continued to buzz, and consequently he moved onto other ventures. He continues to actively network, and in addition Patrick devotes time to his new venture Visionpath and to the enterprise campaign Make Your Mark. Believing that mistakes are there to be learned from, he set about inspiring other young budding entrepreneurs using the experiences of his first business, and what that venture taught him.

In addition, Patrick’s extensive PR work has led to features including an interview on BBC2 Working Lunch, regular interviews on BBC Radio Five Live and Radio Four, plus an interview on More4 News.  In addition, his press coverage has extended to front page articles in the Financial Times, and interviews in the Daily Mail, Daily Telegraph, CityAM and The Daily Express.

Now running Visionpath, a business operating in the education sector, and working with major companies including BT to develop a non-profit social enterprise educating disadvantaged young people in key future skills, Patrick believes his story can inspire other young people to follow an enterprising idea, make mistakes early on to ensure greater success later and understand that failure not only in business but in life generally is one of the best things that can happen to you.
